Frazier Middle School
LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Parents and Guardians,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and welcome you and your child to Fraizer Middle School. My name is Mike Turek, I have worked as the Frazier Middle School Principal for the past eleven years.  I take pride in making both my living and residing in Lower Tyrone Township part of the Frazier School District.

Frazier Middle School opened its doors to students for the first time in August of the 2015/2016 school year.  The building houses grades 6, 7 and 8 and offers electives such as art, music, band, physical education and “Project Lead the Way” to name a few.   We also offer extracurricular activities including boys and girls basketball, football, volleyball, softball, baseball, art, drama and computer clubs.

There are approximately 100 students in any given grade level as our school ranges between 260 - 300 students each year.  Classroom sizes normally have between 20 - 25 students. When the building opened we were fortunate to have received board support for a 1-1 technology initiative.  Meaning, every middle school student receives their very own Chromebook/laptop each year. This format helps to create a learning environment that incorporates 21st Century Learning.  Students and teachers regularly use software programs such as Google Classroom, Study Island, Accelerated Reader and READ 180 to enhance lessons and the learning experience.

Again, I welcome you to Frazier Middle School and look forward to working directly with you and your child!

Mr. Michael V. Turek
